Nanyang-DSO Postdoctoral Fellowships for International Researchers, Singapore - 2015
Nanyang Technological University offers postdoctoral fellowships awards for outstanding researchers with a PhD degree in science and technology. The research areas for NDPD are Advanced Materials for Aerospace Applications, Bio-mimetic Aerodynamics, Cognitive Science and Neuro engineering, Cyber Security, High Power Laser Diode and High Speed High Voltage Switching Devices. Fellowship is to pursue a research career in Singapore.

Course Level:
Fellowships are available for Post Doctoral Degree Level.

Eligibility:
  • Outstanding scientists and researchers in the relevant discipline of science or technology from a reputable university are eligible to apply for the NDPD. Candidate must possess a PhD degree AND postdoctoral working experience. PhD degree must have been conferred at the point of the submission of application.
  • Research project proposals which are already funded by other agencies or being considered for funding by other agencies are not eligible for funding under the NDPD Scheme. The NDPD fellow shall not apply for other funding support, unless approval has been given by the NDPD funding agency.

Benefit:
The NDPD scheme provides selected young and promising scientists to conduct and lead research that is relevant to defence in Singapore/NTU. It offers:
  • Independence to pursue a research career in Singapore
  • A 2-year flexible research grant of up to S$1 million that commensurate with the scope of work
  • Possible conversion to tenure-track appointment at the end of the NDPD. 
  • Tenure-track position will be offered with the NDPD award if the candidate meets the 
  • required criteria for tenure track appointment by the university. Please check the relevant 
  • box in the research application form for the type of position you’re applying for.

Please complete the forms included in the application package and provide the required documents in the relevant order.

NDPD personal particulars form
Detailed curriculum vitae containing the following information:
  • H-index
  • number of citations
  • all publications (indicate impact factor where possible)
  • number of Masters/ PhD students supervised
  • Certificates – Basic and post graduate qualifications including detailed transcripts of grades/ scores (PDF format)
  • At least 3 recent international referee reports (Word or PDF format). Referee reports must be emailed directly torso-trf@ntu.edu.sg with the candidate name noted in the subject field
  • NDPD research application form.
